Composer's Options Chain
Trading options on Composer is similar to other platforms, but is enhanced with features and the style you have come to love from Composer!
After signing up and being approved for options, you will be able to view the options chain.
At first glance, you will notice specific strike prices highlighted green. This represents selected contracts (Call/Put) that are in the money. An “in the money” (ITM) options contract is one where the relationship between the strike price and the current market price of the underlying asset gives the contract intrinsic value.
You can toggle between Buy / Sell and Call / Put at the top of the chain while scrolling through various expiration dates. Selecting the arrow next to a specific strike price will expand the options chain, showing information for that contract.
Quotes are updated in real-time from our data provider, Polygon. Quotes do not represent the price your contract or order may be filled for. Please visit Options Chain Metrics for more information on the Greeks.
Upon selecting a contract, a sidebar will appear with order information. Composer offers two order types for options: Limit and Market. A performance profile will appear beneath the order screen, showing potential gains/losses based on the information you enter.
After selecting your number of contracts and order type, you can place your order. Orders are not guaranteed to be filled and are subject to market conditions. Because options prices can change rapidly—especially during periods of high volatility—the execution price may be significantly higher or lower than expected.
